1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Frankenbiter collects, uses, and protects information about you when you visit our website or use the Frankenbiter plugin. It applies to all users — visitors to frankenbiter.com and licensed users of the plugin. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide the Service:

• Account information — your email address, used to create your account and send you magic link login emails.
• Payment information — credit card and payment data is processed entirely by Stripe. We receive a transaction confirmation and the purchase amount. We never see, handle, or store your card number or banking details.
• Device and license data — a machine fingerprint (used to enforce the three-device license limit), your license key, and the plugin version you are running.
• Usage data — your credit balance, the number of takes requested per generation, and timestamps of generation requests, retained for billing, operational, and abuse-prevention purposes only. We do not log the audio or text content of your requests.

3. Audio and Voice Data

Audio is handled differently from all other data, and we want to be direct about it:

• Audio you submit through the plugin is transmitted securely to our processing infrastructure solely to complete your generation request.
• Frankenbiter does not store, cache, or log your audio. It is permanently deleted upon completion of that request.
• Each generation is processed independently — audio submitted for one generation is never retained by or reused by Frankenbiter for any future request or purpose.
• Frankenbiter does not use your audio to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning models.
• Frankenbiter does not retain voice prints, speaker profiles, or any derivative data from your submissions.
• Audio processing is performed through third-party service providers whose data practices are governed by their own terms and policies. We cannot control, and expressly disclaim any liability for, how those providers handle, retain, or use your audio.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver the Service — process generation requests and manage your credit balance.
• Handle payments and send purchase receipts.
• Send account emails, including magic link login emails and purchase confirmations.
• Maintain and enforce device licensing.
• Monitor for abuse or violations of our Terms of Service, including enforcement of licensing limits and misuse restrictions.
• Respond to support requests.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service — including for payment processing, database hosting, server infrastructure, email delivery, and other aspects necessary to deliver it. These providers may process data on our behalf strictly to deliver the services described in this policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

• Account data — retained while your account is active. After deletion, retained for up to 90 days then permanently purged, except where retention is required by law.
• Audio submissions — Frankenbiter does not retain your audio after a request completes. For third-party processing providers, see Section 3.
• Payment records — retained as required by applicable law and Stripe’s policies.
• Usage logs — retained for up to 12 months for abuse prevention and service reliability, after which they are permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymized.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a single cookie: a JWT session token set when you log in to the dashboard. This cookie is required for authentication and expires when you sign out or after an extended inactivity period.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or any analytics that identify individual users. The Frankenbiter plugin does not use cookies.

8. Your Rights

Regardless of where you are located, you can:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Portability — request your data in a portable format.

California residents (CCPA) — you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal data. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

EEA and UK residents (GDPR) — you have the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (delivering the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (preventing abuse, enforcing licensing), and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations.

9. Security

All data transmitted between the plugin, our servers, and third-party providers is encrypted in transit. Audio submissions travel over encrypted connections. Frankenbiter does not write audio to persistent storage — audio is processed in memory and discarded upon completion of the request. Access to our database is restricted to authenticated infrastructure.

No system is perfectly secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

10. Age Requirement

Frankenbiter is a professional post-production tool intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
